Michael Hess Joins ASP as Vice President Consumer Markets
Las Vegas, NV, January 20, 2017 -
Armament Systems and Procedures (ASP) has hired Michael Hess in the newly-created position of Vice President Consumer Markets. Hess will be leading the company's expansion beyond its core law enforcement roots, including the launch of the new Civilian Access Products (CAP) Program.
Hess comes to ASP after more than two decades of launching and leading businesses in the consumer products space. Among them was Skooba Design, a well-known brand of upscale travel accessories for portable electronics that Hess founded in 2000 and sold in 2014. In the years since, Hess has been consulting for other businesses in areas including marketing communication, product and brand development and e-commerce.
ASP CEO Kevin Parsons met Hess more than 15 years ago when their companies did some business together. "We've kept in touch over the years," says Parsons, "and when we decided that ASP was ready to expand into the types of markets that Michael has lived in, it wound up being perfect timing for both of us."
Hess explains that when the opportunity arose to join ASP, it was an easy decision. "I have admired this company, its products, and this industry for years, and am excited to be part of it." Hess says that he looks forward to the challenge of building a new market segment, saying "When hard work is fun, it's really not work... this is one of those rare situations where you get to say, 'I can't believe I'm getting paid to do this.'"
